HOW TO CONNECT CABLE TO ROKU TV

You can connect your cable receiver to your Roku TV in three different methods. You can connect them using HDMI, Composite RCA, or Coaxial cable. This article elaborates on the procedure for each connection method. Choose your preferred connection method and refer to the respective section to connect the cable to your Roku TV.

Connect via an HDMI cable

It is always recommended to connect your devices using an HDMI cable. It is considered the easiest method of connecting devices. Moreover, it ensures high-quality video and sound. Follow the upcoming steps to establish the connection via an HDMI cable.

  • With your Roku TV turned off, connect the HDMI cable between your cable receiver and the HDMI port of your Roku TV.
  • Power on your TV, navigate to the HDMI Input tile and press the OK button (using the Roku TV remote).
  • With your Roku TV turned off, connect the HDMI cable between your cable receiver and the HDMI port of your Roku TV.

Connect via Composite RCA cable

Composite RCA cables usually have three plugs with unique color codes. Refer to the color codes before proceeding further: Yellow indicates Video, Red for Audio right channel, and White/Black indicates Audio (left channel). Follow the upcoming steps to establish the connection via RCA cable.

  • With your TV turned on, connect each plug to the connector according to the color codes.
  • Power on your TV, navigate to the AV tile from the Home screen, and press the OK button.
  • Within a few seconds, the connection will be established.

Connect via Coaxial cable

  • With your Roku TV turned off, screw the coaxial cable from your cable receiver.
  • Power on your Roku TV, navigate to the Antenna tile from the home screen, and press the OK button.
  • Choose the Start finding channels option and press the OK button using the TV remote.
  • Now your TV will start to scan for the channels. This process can take a few minutes.
  • Once the scanning process gets over, your TV will search for the cable channels available for your subscription. It will simultaneously show you the number of channels available for your subscription.
  • If you think that it has not searched all the channels, choose Search for channels again. If you are okay with the scanning process, select Done.
  • The moment you press Done, it will take you to the Home screen. Choose your preferred input tile and press the OK button.
