  • Ensure to follow these steps if the uploading error occurred right after the OS El Capitan update. (10.13.6)
  • Launch your Mac and click on Applications.
  • Navigate to the Utility option and then open the Terminal Application.
  • Enter the following command in the terminal Application,
  • /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/ versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support /lsregister -kill -seed
  • Press the Return key in the keyboard and wait for the terminal prompt with the $ sign to appear in the application.
  • The terminal application step may take a couple of minutes of your time to complete.
  • Once the $ prompt appears, you can quit the Terminal application window.
  • You can now see the share icon appear.
  • If the share icon does not appear, open the system preferences from the Apple menu.
  • Ensure the share feature is turned on in the Actions and Share menu sections.

  • If Mac Sierra Operating System (10.13.5) displays the unable to upload error appears. 
  • There is a simple fix to solve the issue for the Mac 10.13.5.
  • Go to File and choose New Smart Album.
  • Set the name for the smart album as Unable to upload.
  • You will see three drop-down menus.
  • Enter the name in the following order: Photo – is – unable to upload in each of the three fields.
  • Select Unable to upload button in the left pane of the sidebar.
  • Press the command button + A key to select all the photos and choose File > Export > Export unmodified Original for the number of selected photos.
  • In the dialog boxes coming next, choose the file destination for the photos to be saved.
  • Click Delete and OK.
  • Now, you can import the photos back to your library.
  • Choose Import from the File menu.
  • You will find the images in the location you specified for the photos.
